Cup Races Sat. 7th. March 2009

 

Teviotdale Harriers held their last race of the cross country season last Saturday up on Hawick Moor. The Teviotdale Harriers cup is the blue riband event for all members. In the first event for u/13 girls & boys there were 17 entrants, with one and a half laps of Hawick race course to be covered the competition was always going to be intense. At the finish Molly Marshall crossed the winning line in first place to win the girls race in the time of 11min 15sec in second spot it was Sarah Brown, and in third place it was Ishbel Inglis.

In the boys race it was Jamie Waugh who crossed the line in first position in the time of 11min 30sec with Morgan Tait in second place and Callum Murray third.

 

In the second race of the day for u/17 boys & Senior ladies there were two laps to be covered, at the finish Charlie Marshall crossed the line first to win the junior cup for the u/17boys, in second place it was Keith Learmonth with Mark McEwan in third. In the ladies race Eilidh Inglis crossed the line first to win, with Erin Scott second, and Sylvia Grieve in third.

 

In the main race of the day for the Teviotdale Harriers cup, there are four laps to cover, with last years winner Norman Taylor setting the pace, the race soon started to unwind, at the finish line it was Kelso's Wayne Mcintosh who won the cup for the second time, in second place it was club captain Craig Grieve, and in third spot it was Jed's Iain Williams.
